We are a leading systems integrator in the UK, offering bespoke technology solutions for high-end private homes, multi-dwelling residential developments, and commercial office blocks. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Estimator to expand our internal commercial contract management function.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, the Estimator will be part of multiple project teams, responsible for monitoring and managing project scope, contractual compliance, project valuations and payment applications, and outturn cost and profitability. They will support the design and sales teams with preparation and maintenance of tender responses, quotations, and forecasts, and assist the sales team in the preparation of quotations for large private schemes.

Key Responsibilities of the Estimator

Supporting the company's design team with the generation and management of cost plans for consultancy projects.

Preparing commercial tender responses, including taking off device / cable / port / circuit count from tender information, population and maintenance of tender pricing model, preparation of pricing schedules and value engineering schedules, and assisting sales team with preparation of large private client project cost plans and quotations.

Assisting the senior commercial manager with financial management of large project sub-contracts, including valuation of work done, preparation of payment applications, review of contractor evaluations and certifications, administration of site instructions and change orders, and preparation of final accounts. Assisting sales team with financial management of private project cost plans and quotations.

Attending internal and external project meetings and technical reviews, and conducting monthly/quarterly cost and profit analysis for commercial projects (Excel, Job Costing) and monthly/quarterly labour and prelims analysis (Excel, Job Costing) and reporting to Project Managers.

Supporting senior commercial manager in the maintenance of revenue/resource/invoice forecasts for commercial projects and consultancy / design work, and conducting monthly design time and billing analysis (Excel, Sage Line 50).

Key Requirements of the Estimator:

Strong interest in building technologies.

Prior experience of working in the construction industry or building design/consultancy professions.

Experience in a previous contract management support role would be an advantage, but appropriate training will be provided.

Strong Excel capability is essential, as is experience working with construction information, including positional and schematic drawings, technical specifications, and schedules.

Aptitude for learning and working with new software applications would be advantageous.

Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills.
