Our client a Manufacturing company based in Richmond has a great opportunity for a Senior Operations Manager to join their team. As Senior Operations Manager you will be responsible for operations process from product development, 3rd party supply logistics, warehousing, transport and distribution processes. You will oversee and support operations team of 3 staff.

  • Responsible for product supply planning and making sure the business is adequately resourced.
  • Plan and direct company’s operations to recognise productivity improvement opportunities and remain cost efficient.
  • Work closely with Production and Research Coordinator on New Product Development projects.
  • Responsible for forecast stock levels in warehouses to manage and fulfil orders as well as avoid overstocking. Ensure reports are presented accurate and on time.
  • Carry out end to end supply chain reviews and identity bottle necks and operational inefficiencies.
  • Contact and liaise with all company supplier accounts.
  • Continue to engage and develop an excellent 3rd party supplier relationship.
  • Determine key supply chain KPIs and report on monthly basis. Lead the operations team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed KPIs.
  • Oversee, support and lead operations team of 3 employees through day to day tasks and develop a high performing team.
  • Ensure customers’ orders are processed and invoiced on time by operations team.
  • Responsible for budget reviews and inventories and making recommendations.
  • Employ analytical skills and use data driven approach to decision making.
  • Recognise importance of undertaking research as necessary to both inform and advise product development.
  • Organise collection including overseas shipment through sea freight / road freight.
  • Keep up to date with import/export regulations
  • Develop overtime an understanding of different product compositions
  • Travelling to meetings and trade shows as required by the role.
  • To take part and work at company events such as consumer shows/events and clients store promotions.
  • Providing general organisation and any other general office support that may be required.
Key Skills Required:
  • Minimum 3-years’ experience in a similar role – Finance, Logistics, Operations
  • Experience in integrating planning, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing and distribution management, as well as improving end-to-end effectiveness.
  • Project management skills and leadership skills to support and lead operations team
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure all processes are carried out correctly.
  • Be organised. Quick with data and numbers.
  • Problem solving attitude. 
  • Outstanding time management and ability to constantly re-arrange and prioritize tasks effectively whilst meeting strict deadlines
  • Understanding of principles of accounting and finance.
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Experience in operational responsibility within FMCG market
  • SAGE or similar software
  • Knowledge of customs regulations
