Our client within the FMCG industry in Richmond upon Thames have an exciting Fixed term contract for an experienced Planner. They are seeking a detail-oriented business professional to work in our Operations team, providing Planning and Purchasing support in Supply Chain for a new ERP system implementation project It is a 6–8-month FTC.
The role:
The main purpose of this role is to support Planning and purchase order process for the Supply Chain function during the ERP project – having in mind both warehouse stocks and Direct orders to Middle East and Asia
Experience and knowledge:
  • Experienced Supply Chain professional with a background in Demand and Supply Planning
  • Working closely with Sales/Commercial, Finance, Marketing to understand the forecasts and work in line with S&OP process
  • Covering also placing of finished product orders from existing 3rd party suppliers/manufacturers
  • Working collaboratively with manufacturing facilities in the Far East and Europe, including understanding of minimum order quantities and packaging materials stock at the 3rd party
  • Role is based in the Marketing and Sales Organisation of the branded product so production planning is not required in this role (although understanding can be useful)
  • Managing Inventory levels and monitoring shelf life across all products at warehouses in Europe and UK
  • Working very closely and daily with New product Development to plan stock for product launches
  • Also working closely with Logistics (to ensure products are brought to regions on time)
Necessary requirements
  • Excellent understanding and working experience of ERP system is a must
  • Worked on the ERP system implementation – NetSuite, SAP or similar a preference
  • Knowledge of the Supply Chain flow and process within an FMCG business
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, analysing a lot of data and being able to make recommendations
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Great attention to detail with an analytical mind & excellent communication skills
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Having a ‘can do’ approach
