£35,000
40-hour week.
Shifts to start as early as 6am and as late finish as 8pm. 1 in 3 Saturday work required with a day off in lieu.
The client requires some flexibility with hours for the needs of the business from time to time
 
A health club based in Surbiton are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join their growing team and help maintain their facilities to the highest standards.
 
As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the club's facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our members. This includes maintaining machinery, lighting, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and pool equipment.
 
Maintenance Operative Duties:

  • Facilities Maintenance: Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and general repairs.
  • Pool Plant Operations: Water testing, chemical balancing (Chlorine & pH), backwashing, and spa/shower area upkeep. (A pool plant course can be offered).
  • Preventative Maintenance: PPM checks, logging issues in WAM system, and maintaining records.
  • Security & Safety: Monitoring alarms, locks, fire extinguishers, and emergency procedures.
  • Refurbishment & Deliveries: Assisting with redecoration and handling stock deliveries.
  • Documentation: Keeping logs, stock takes and using basic Excel/Word tools.
Maintenance Operative Specification:
  • Pool Plant Operators Qualification preferred.
  • Electrical trade bias is a plus but not essential.
Skills & Attributes:
  • High attention to detail and methodical thinking.
  • Strong prioritisation and communication skills.
  • Physically fit to handle lifting and carrying tasks.
  • Well-presented, polite, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and a 'can-do' attitude.
